Adobe Acrobat is truly amazing software. It lets anyone with almost any computer system read any document. It doesn't matter if the document was created with MicrosoftWord, QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, or even something as obscure as Jerry's personal copy of 'Aldus Pagemaker' program! If you can print some or all of the document from the creating program, that document can be quickly saved as an Acrobat file, commonly known as a Portable Document  Format, or PDF. Anyone with the Acrobat Reader software (which is free) can open and view the document, with the contents  looking exactly the way they did in the original "authoring" program.
