I used an 'early childhood education student' from my local college and paid minimum wage, having someone you can rely on and someone who really wants the job for experience makes you feel more comfortable.  I told her we would treat this like a part time job, I gave her my hours the weekend before, I needed to count on her and she would get the same amount of notice of cancellation as I got.  If my class/interview rescheduled she would also.  I usually kept her anyway, and used that time for phone calls, booking etc. 

The other thing is Mary Kay is a fun and financially rewarding thing she is doing for all of them.  She needs to get out and do something for herself so she can be recharged and have the energy and enthusiasm to be there for her children 24/7.

P.S.  When I joined Mary Kay I had twins that were 3 yrs old and another one that was 2 and my husband had a business out of town working 7a.m. to 11 p.m. most week days....so this is from my own experience!
