Quick and Easy Ideas for Valentine's Day

  1. Contact the husbands and significant others of your customers and offer to put together a Valentines Day gift for their sweetheart.* Men generally shop by price and convenience, so you may want to ask what price range they have in mind. Here is a dialogue you could use:

    Hi, Bob, this is ____________________. You don't know me, but I'm a friend of Karen's. Actually, I'm her Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Do you have a quick minute? I wanted to talk to you about a Valentine's Day gift idea for Karen. Great!

    Bob, I always call my customer's husbands to offer my gift-buying service. I keep a wish list on Karen throughout the year of Mary Kay products she wants and has mentioned she'd love to receive as gifts.

    I don't know if you've shopped for Karen's Valentines Day gift yet, but I'd love to help you out by fixing a beautiful, personalized gift basket full of products I know she'll love.

    I offer free gift wrapping and delivery. If she's not 100% thrilled, I'll exchange anything to her complete satisfaction.

    I can make you look really good, Bob! I have gifts ranging from $15 to $100. Tell me, what price range would you have in mind? Great!

Dazed eyes ... aimless wandering.  You know the type.  He has the money, but not a clue how to spend it!  He knows that his evening, week ... or even the rest of the month ... rests on his ability to purchase a thoughtful gift!

Turning husband's into heroes is your job!!!

"Have you gotten your Sweetheart anything for Valentine's Day yet?  No?!?  Boy, am I going to make you look good!"  Pull out a scented wrapped rose and a card.  "I will deliver this to your Sweetheart at work, home, or to you to present to her yourself!"  Read the card and then say:  "I will enclose a gift certificate ranging from $25 to $500 and it includes a facial and makeover!  You may select the price of the shopping spree.  Where would you like me to deliver it!  To her at home, work, or to you?  What amount would you like to treat her on her day of pampering?"

Card should read:
I loved you when I met you and today I love you more!
You've made my life more than it's ever been before!
I hope your day of shopping is as happy as can be!
Try all and have a ball, and then come home to me!

IT'S TIME TO PUT THE SHOW ON THE ROAD....SO PACK YOUR TRUNK AND GET MOVING!!

    

SATIN HANDS SNOWMAN
 

You will need:
Satin Hands Pampering Set
Fiber Fill (polyester foam batting - sewing/crafts store)
White Tuille (very sheer netting - Walmart is inexpensive)
Shish Ka-bob Skewers
Rubber Bands
4" Styrofoam balls
Black Permanent Marker
Chenille Pipe cleaners (orange)
Straw Hats (you will probably have to buy natural color and paint them black or Dollar Store had black felt ones)
Stick Pins (2)
Cute Christmas Ribbon (wired) or Clean, Old Colorful Sock
Small Pom-poms (I like the blue ones if I am using blue ribbon, but white ones are great too)
Craft Glue
Place the Satin Hands Pampering Set in the middle of a large square of fiber fill/batting and pull up the sides enough to make it look very full - will look like a huge cotton ball. (The fiber fill will just go around the Satin Hands set to cover the bag...it does not have to be VERY full.)
Measure out enough tuille so that you can gather it around the batting at the top of the Satin Hands set - not too tight.
Insert a shish ka-bob skewer into the hole on the top of the bag.
Gather the tuille at the top and tie it around the skewer with a rubber band.
Push the 4" Styrofoam ball down onto the skewer.
With a black marker draw the eyes and mouth.
Insert a small pipe cleaner for the nose.
Put the black hat on and use 2 stick pins to hold it in place.
Tie ribbon or sock around the "neck".
Apply three pom-poms as buttons down it's belly with craft glue.
 
 

NOTE: DO NOT BUY THE FIBER FILL that comes in a bag. THAT is for stuffing pillows.  You want to ask for the roll of batting. I got one that was about 2 yards for $3.49 at JOANNS. Also, go to a fabric store (again, JOANN) and get a big roll of tulle (in the fabric area...) and have it cut. I got 1 yard for $1!!!!! I only used a small amount of it, so that $1 will make about 6-8.

Another hint.... after gathering the tulle and batting around the SH, use a rubber band around the top(wide part) of the SH to gather it all together.... stick the skewer in the hole... THEN use another RB to tighten the top (around the skewer). Do not stick the head on until this is done, or the head will pop off! Also, make sure you use wired ribbon for the scarf, it will look better. I used pom poms(black) for the eyes and mouth instead of the marker, because it looks better. The total cost is around $32 with supplies, but I'm selling them for $35...gotta charge for time and creativity!!

How To Use Your
Holiday Gift Portfolio

Assembling your HG Portfolio
  1. Purchase a nice binder that has a clear plastic cover on the front.  You will place the portfolio cover page here.
  2. Print your HG Portfolio (10 pgs) from a color printer onto GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER.  It will have a crisp, sharp, deep color.  Very eye catchy!  No other paper will do!
  3. Purchase plastic sheet protectors and place inside your binder.  Then add your HG Portfolio pages in the order in which you printed them out. 
  4. Add a few extra plastic sheet protectors and place inside them some Gift Certificates, some Santa Wish Lists would be a great idea, pink sales tickets, Look Books,information about the Twelve Days of Christmas Gift Sets (available on this website), as well as samples of the gift cards that go with the 12 Days Sets.  Even some holiday career info is a good idea.
Suggested Uses for your HG Portfolio
  1. Print and assemble as many as five  HG Portfolios.  (Are you a big thinker?  Don't stop at FIVE!)  Have them working for you at all times!
  2. Distribute them to "Portfolio Hostesses" (a minimum of 5 a week would be great) along with a Holiday Book Show Hostess Info   (available on this website).  Give your Hostesses $75 in MK products for only $25 as a reward for showing the portfolio to her friends, family and co-workers and taking outside orders.  Utilize the Holiday Fun Packet idea along with it, which rewards the shoppers by allowing them one chance in a drawing for $20 in free product for each $10 they purchase.  When the Fun Packet is completed it represents $250 in outside sales!!  Can you get EXCITED about $1,250 in sales EACH WEEK from 5 Excited,  Portfolio Hostesses?
