at 10:23PM October 17, 2007 (1) HI! Read Week 6 in the "And Then Some" Journal - This Little Light of Mine - Influence and Charisma. This week's journey has inspired me in so many ways. As God prepared Mary Kay for the life she lead I believe God prepares and encourages us for His best through our experiences during every season of our life and business (believing and trusting Him through them no matter what we are seeing). I am more passionnate to leave friends, acquaintenances, customers, family members, and whoever crosses my path better than when they first entered my presence. I admire Marsha Morrissette as she represents Mary Kay to me in how she leads her area and her graciousness with adoptee units. I am reminded of her NIQ-NSD song, "Shine" by Newsboys- "Make em wonder whatcha got -make em wish that they were not on the outside looking bored -shine let it shine before all men- let em see good works and then-let em glorify the Lord. For the "Let's Grow" Activity I chose 2 & 3. Reading of Mary Kay's Autobiography as if I was reading about Tammy & Vowing to share 1 of my gifts with someone I meet each day. I did not have a class or facial tonight so I made booking calls during the time I had scheduled for a class. I had a $116 in sales (1 hr.) - 4 bookings for Our Holiday Wishes Open House! It was a GREAT time connecting with my customers. Comments I received was "I was just thinking about you" "Do you have me on Auto Redial because I was just going to call you with my reorder", "I was looking for your number to call you". "I am so glad you called". Sue Palmer wrote: at 11:23PM July 14, 2007 Hi everyone! This past week's lesson for the "And Then Some " journal was on ETHICS. I read the pages in the journal, listened to Track 4 of the CD(actually listened to this track every time I was driving in my van this past week), filled in the Let's Talk section and chose #2 in the Let's Grow section which challenged me to have the courage to stick to living by the Golden Rule when I'm tempted by "go with the crowd" mentality. I also listened to Lynn's voicecast, thanks Lynn for all of the great information. Like I've said before, even if you aren't taking part in the "And Then Some" journal, the weekly recordings by Lynn and Christine are so worth listening to, you will pick up tips and ideas not only to help with your business but help you be the best you that you can be, so please take a few minutes and listen to these incredible ladies:-) I can't wait for next week's section on FOCUS. I've definitely struggled with this over the years when there always seem to be so many tasks to do with the commitments I've agreed to. I have come a long ways as far as having more focus in my life, learning to say "No" to requests from others for my time(which is hard since I'm someone who wants to help everyone). It continues to be an area I am always eager to get help with so I'm ready to be the student. Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see everyone in Dallas next week!! I listened to the CD, read the chapter, answered the questions in the Let's Talk section and chose my homework assignment. Leaving a Legacy and Self-Respect is so important. I want others to know me as a woman of Faith in God, who Treats others with kindness, honesty, sincerity, recognition of other's ideas, a woman of her word, dependable, and a woman of integrity and honor no only for myself but others as well. Building My Life and Walk on a Firm Foundation. Looking SO FORWARD to SEMINAR!!! Carol Nelson wrote:
at 05:42PM July 12, 2007 (2)This week in the And Then Some journey we are on week 4 ETHICS. I listened to the CD, read the chapter, answered the questions in the Let's Talk section and chose my homework assignment. In putting the Golden Rule into practice, I am choosing to make a conscious choice to do what is right every day with everyone in every situation. Another thing I took away from this lesson is to make an effort to right the wrongs whether intentional or not. It was good to talk with you today, Lynn, on the conference call. Thank you for your encouragement and wisdom!! Sue Palmer wrote: at 02:13PM July 08, 2007 This past week's section in the "And Then Some" journal was about Endurance and the pages in the journal really made me think. This section started with a powerful quote from Mary Kay "I challenge you to think of each blessing as a burden and each burden as a blessing." There have been many times in my life when it would have been so easy to quit and throw in the towel but after praying and thinking about how trivial the issue (which I thought was so horrible at the time) was compared to what other friends and people were going through, I decided to keep going and work through it, I guess it was ENDURING to move on to the next thing!! Working through the questions on the "Let's talk" page for this section really made me think too. Christine's VoiceCast was so good, talk about sharing so many wonderful thoughts and ideas to help us be the best we can be. For the Let's Grow activity, I chose to select a situation in my life that requires my ability to endure, came up with a plan to see it to completion and set this plan in motion, it feels good to have a plan instead of feeling like it was controlling me and my life :-) I also have continued to swim laps daily (M-F) for the past 2 1/2 weeks now, believe me there have been mornings when I would have rather slept in but I got up and made myself do it knowing I'd feel angry and upset with myself for not doing it. I am definitely growing in the areas of personal accountablility and endurance. I'm so glad I'm staying on this incredible "And Then Some" journal journey before Seminar this year. Love and hugs -- Sue at 11:03PM July 07, 2007 (4) Another EXCITING day at the Booth in Andover! Mary Kay is an awesome company WITH integrity. I was so excited to share this with a couple of prospects today. One was EXCITED to participate in Mary Kay's Model search. I told her I would be happy to get together. I asked if she had ever had a facial. She said, a couple of months ago. I then said, Oh then your consultant must be participating in this contest too and I am sure she would be happy to enter you. She questioned why she couldn't just get together with me. I thanked her kindly and said, that's why I LOVE Mary Kay. We are a company with Integrity and build relationships with our clients. She was impressed by that. I said if things change with her consultant in the future, feel free to contact me. Also, I forgot to mention regarding the And Then Some Journal that I did listed to SSD Christine Ali's message on edurance last week and it is so true to press on and be consistent with disciplining your schedule. I am looking forward to this weeks voicecast from Lynn on Ethics. It's a New Year in Mary Kay for each of us in our business and together as a unit! It feels great to have a fresh start and imagine what this new year will bring. It is a time to dream, set goals and grow. This week in the And Then Some journal, I am encouraged already by Christine's VoiceCast, reading and assignment in the journal. I asked my husband to help me be accountable to walk every day. I know in all areas of life and business, endurance is key! One thing Christine said that I have been thinking about is to schedule everything. I need to know myself personally, be prepared to run "my" race and run with endurance. I am loving running my race with all of you!! Carol Nelson wrote: at 10:25AM June 22, 2007 (15) It was good to talk with Christine and Sue on the "and then some" chat. I have listened to both Lynn's VoiceCast introduction and Christine's VoiceCast on abundance(week 1). I am learning to approach my days more purposefully. I am assessing my priorities. I see that the readings, questions and "let's grow" suggestions will benefit me in all areas of my life. Sue Palmer wrote:
at 11:19PM June 21, 2007 I am really enjoying going through this "And Then Some" journal. I read the intro and abundance sections and really enjoyed just sitting back and listening to all the inspiring words on the accompnying CD. I chose #3 to do this past week, this is the one where whenever you feel tempted to use negative speech (out loud to someone else or to yourself in your mind), stop yourself and instead use positive abundant action words in their place. I have been working on eliminating the majority of the negative self-talk that goes on inside my head so focusing on this for the assignment has really been eye-opening. I continue to be amazed at the things I catch myself telling myself about something I've just done or plan to do, I would never say such things to my friends, yet it's so easy to bash myself and make myself feel bad and so sure success isn't there for me. By eliminating this negative self-talk, I see a more confident courageous and happier me. What you think about, you bring about -- so focus on the positive and there's no stopping you, you can accomplish amazing things!! Thanks for your great VoiceCast message Christine, I've listened to it a couple times this week and it was nice talking about this Journal journey with Christine and Carol today on the chat conference call that Lynn had set up. Can't wait to listen to our next journal section on Accountability (another area I can definitely improve in). Make it a GREAT day everyone -- Sue

at 10:49PM June 20, 2007 ....IN the AND THEN SOME JOURNAL Mary Kay said that it is FAR BETTER to be EXHAUSTED by SUCCESS than to be rested from failure. I am proving this to be so true! No more bon bons so to speak (I am continuing to ask myself, "Is this going to get me where I want a month from now, 6 months from now, or a year from now)! ... Each day I am getting out of my way and talking with women enthusiastically! I am speaking outloud my affirmations each morning as I get up and in the evening. I have a tape recorder and I listen to My Abundance tape in as I get ready in the morning and again as I lay my head on my pillow and fall asleep. POWERFUL! Getting out of my way every day in every way saying "YES" to creating a beautiful future starting now! Tammy Sanz wrote:

Thank you, Lynn for your encouraging notes to me in my guest book! I love it! Tammy Sanz 6/18/2007 ...I listened to Abundance Mentality on CD and from the AWESOME and INSPIRING Senior Sales Director Christine Ali. at 10:43PM June 17, 2007 ...For the "And Then Some" assignment options I chose #3 to start with. I am speaking more positively to myself. I am reminding myself of what is true and positive. I am choosing to take action on a present task, becoming more disciplined and decisive. (Do it anyway!) I put a photo of me as a child on page 7 and find that looking at myself and asking the questions, is a powerful assignment. Carol Nelson wrote: at 08:52PM June 16, 2007 .... I have read week one in the "and then some" journal and have listened several times to the CD . I am learning things about myself as I listen and contemplate. It may not be easy, but it is good! Everyone benefits from Mary Kay!! Let's not keep it to ourselves!!
