In packing for my first class
 
1. I cleaned my Travel Essentials Bag!!
Using is at every meeting and at classes it gets really grubby looking mostly because we demo from it and get in a hurry to clean up after...
I want to encourage ( and ask) that all of you use one of these with full size product to demo from at every class and facial and when you are doing skin care at out Success Nights. Not your personal one!
Why? It is so much more professional than demoing from samples & travel size products!
It is the way the company has trained us on our DVD's...
Invest in a new Travel Roll up today and get it filled with the proper sets.
Some you will demo from others just show guests.
Our Starter Kit comes with $323 worth of Retail products to demo from.

Here's another idea: Whenever you need a new product for your personal use, take the one from your travel roll up for YOU and add the new one to your roll up!
You will never run out again!
 
2. I filled it with the sets that are in the current Beauty Book.
It is soo important to close our guests and show them what the full size products look like.
The eye buys!
3. I threw out all my old Beauty Book Set sheets!
It is quite embarrassing to have a class with many guests and you start to close with the set sheets and they cannot follow along because they all have different sets on their sheets!! YIKES!! This is especially true at Success Nights!
So please make sure you have current books.
4. I put together 4 looks from the Look Book for my Hostess to choose from.
I wanted to be prepared.  I packed classic look cards for the rest of the guests. Do not bring all of your MK Color Samples! Guests have no reason to book if you give them the works at the first appointment.

Simple!!
5. I brought all new up to date Skin Care Profiles.
New profiles ask questions of the guests about their eye, face colors and shapes.
Soo up to date!
6. I packed my Inventory Case so I could deliver on the spot as much as possible.
If you currently do not have a full inventory, Mary Kay advises that you reinvest all profits to stock your shelves. After you have enough to service ALL your customers, start doing a 60/40 split. 60% back into inventory and Preferred Customer & section 2 items.
40% to pay bills, yourself etc.
7. I put together Hostess and Recruiting Packets.
If you do not currently bring both of these items to EVERY appointment you are not working on purpose. Make it a personal responsibility to purchase section 2 recruiting literature and hostess information. Choose what one Hostess Plan you want to use and stick with it!
8. I packed sales receipts, pens, money bag ( with proper change )
and date book.
 Assuming I would have sales and book new appointments!
 
9. I arrived with ONE bag (rolling bag) in hand...
Don't arrive at you Success Night or class or facial looking like a bag lady! Make 2 trips if necessary. Why? Would the Hostess want your position if she saw you arrive the 3 bags falling off your shoulders...tripping up the stairs..huffing and puffing because you had too much to carry?
 Leave your inventory in the back seat or trunk of your car. Remember in hot or cold the inside of your vehicle stays about 30 degrees warmer or cooler depending on the season. If items freeze let them defrost naturally and they will be fine.
10. I added 6 Preferred Customer Gifts to my inventory suitcase, assuming each and every customer was going to purchase $40 or more and deserved the free gift!
11. Iwrapped up the Hostess thank you gift in a bag with tissue and tag thanking her.
 Order one or more of the current hostess gifts to have on hand for your hostess's.
12.I got dressed up and showed up in a skirt, pantyhose, and my Beauty Coat..even tho it was 80 degrees! I have NEVER worn pants to a facial or class. Relative, friend or not!
That is one area in our business that is NOT an option!

Some of you may say I am being preachy!! Not at all. We have a standard of excellence to live up to. It shows in our dailey walk..wherever we are. Just remember, if Mary Kay were watching everything you do would she be proud?
You may buck me on some of these items...mainly because right now you are not holding appointments on a regular basis. I personally don't care how many you hold...it is your business..Just be sure you give it 100% doing whatever you do!
