MAR 27: Optimistic Voices

Try singing this along with me to change your attitude!!!!....

You're out of the woods,
You're out of the dark,
You're out of the night.
Step into the sun,
Step into the light.
Keep straight ahead for
The most glorious place
On the Face of the Earth
Or the sky!
Hold onto your breath,
Hold onto your heart,
Hold onto your hope.
March up to that gate
And bid it open...
You're out of the woods,
You're out of the dark,
You're out of the night.
Step into the sun,
Step into the light.
March up to the gate
And bid it open!
Open!

Optimistic Voices

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Optimistic Voices" is the name of both a song and the choir singing it, from the 1939 film classic The Wizard of Oz.

It is heard on the soundtrack when the group is saved from a sleeping spell in a poppy field as they approach the Emerald City. The song is a bouncy number sung by a female chorus.

 Action as the song occurs

As the song progresses, the whole group seems to hear itthey skip toward the Emerald City in time to the music.

This song is one of several in the film presumably intended to speak to its American audience, which by then was ten years into the Great Depression.
