Working with your team - Shared by Janine Malcolm ( Fall Advance)

Recruiter Tips and Responsibilities

  • Be in contact with your new team member as much as possible.  She needs to hear from you and know that her success is important to you.  After her initial 3 months in business, be sure to continue calling her at least monthly.

  • Many of your directors send your new team member a welcome packet to help her jump start her business.  She can be reviewing this material before her starter kit arrives.

  • Encourage her to talk with your director right away about the Ready, Set, Sell brochure and opportunity for her to earn her FREE Custom 101 compact within her first 15 days after submitting her agreement. Your director will review the New Consultant Inventory Options and free product bonuses with her. Share what you did and encourage her to have product on hand for her first shows and facials.

  • Give her an adequate supply of current Look books, sales tickets, and profiles for her to begin showing others the Mary Kay products and making sales before her starter kit arrives. Give her at least 10 packets of the Satin Hands demos to start using to make immediate sales. Help her get a contact list started.

  • Encourage her to call you when her starter kit arrives and offer to come over to share in her excitement as she assembles her starter kit and gets organized.

  • Help her become familiar with her in-touch page. Encourage her to go to the Education tab and do the on-line classroom study Silver Wings Scholarship Program.

  • If you team member is local to you, invite your team member over to your house or out on a class so she can learn how to pack and organize inventory and samples.

  • Be present when your new team member receives her Mary Kay logo pin at her first meeting as a new consultant. You may also choose to present her with a rose if you would like.

  • Arrange for her to observe at least one of your skin care classes in the next two weeks.  She needs to see you in this role. It is up to you to find and set these up for your new team member to attend!

  • Encourage her to attend all weekly meetings and to bring guests so she can earn while she learns.  Encourage her to bring five models to the class at the Success Meeting. Tell her how to invite them and offer to help her set up the trays at the class. This gets her bookings and sales right away and encourages the best start.

  • Have her block off her Success Meeting time in her date book for the first 13 weeks. (Classes do not constitute an excused absence.) Tell her and show her that theres NO NEGATIVITY at success events! TELL HER TO DRESS PROFESSIONALLY AT ALL EVENTS and set a good example.

  • Attend new consultant orientation with her if possible. This helps her be more comfortable, and it enables you to answer other questions that arise.

  • Tell her how to get her first 8-10 classes booked, in detail, and be sure she does it! Encourage her to book and hold her Perfect or Power Start and practice interviews.  This is essential to her career.

  • Help your team member set up goalsshort or long rangePerfect Start or Power Start. Have her schedule her Perfect/Power Start in her datebook.

  • Encourage her to turn in her Weekly Accomplishment sheet to the director each week and stress the importance of doing so. Answer any questions she may have in completing her accomplishment sheet.

  • Have your team member call you and your director after each of her first five classes and share what went well and what she wants to improve on. Answer all questions that have arisen at each class and encourage her.

  • Encourage her to build her own team and earn her Senior Consultant Pin Enhancer.  This will practically guarantee her success.

  • Explain how to reinvest her money for the first 4 or 5 orders, to get her on a sound business basis with plenty of stock on hand using her Business Tracking Sheet.

  • Lead by example! Go to meetings, no excuses; the meetings need you you need the meetings. Be on conference calls. Always look and dress sharp. Hold parties; turn in accomplishment sheets at the meetings; offer to help out wherever needed. Be women of integrity.

  • Remember, a consultant is only as good as her support and encouragement. Every time we recruit somebody we resell ourselves! Furthermore, in training a new team member we become stronger. You cannot ask a new team member to do anything you are not doing yourself or willing to do; therefore, you become a much stronger consultant.

  • PRAISE HER TO SUCCESS AND BE HER BIGGEST CHEERLEADER!!
