So you're not in
Hollywood, prancing down Oscar's red carpet and clutching at a golden statue. That doesn't mean you can't look the part. As gilded and glamorous as these cinema lilies are, beauty experts say getting that red carpet glow is not all that difficult -- if you know the right products to try.
"It's all about the products -- it's knowing what to use and how to use it.
The latest buzz on the lips of
Hollywood's most famous glamour dolls is primers -- as in skin primers. Mostly silicone-based, she says these "under-makeup makeups" can turn skin that's been up all night into a face that radiates like the morning sun.
"It's like spackle for the face. These products cover everything by putting a thin layer of nontoxic silicone between your skin and the makeup. It creates the look of a totally flawless complexion,?
Another bonus: Experts say that with silicone primers you can wave "ba bye" to enlarged pores, acne scars, and even fine lines and wrinkles -- if only for the moment! Primer use is reportedly so popular on Oscar night, one makeup artist (who dolls up such famous faces we can't even mention her name!) whispers that most of the gorgeous gals you'll see waltzing down the red carpet this year would look "just dreadful" without at least one coat of primer under it all.
Get the J-Lo Glow
Perhaps, however, nothing says Oscar glamour more than the increasingly popular
Hollywood "glow" -- that dewyluminescence made famous by stars such as J-Lo, Demi, Cameron, Julia, Drew, Charlize, and countless others. The good news is you don't need a 5-carat pink diamond to get the sparkle. What can do the trick? Products called "skin illuminators," say experts. These are pearlized shimmer creams that reflect light onto the skin.
"These products were a great breakthrough in makeup technology because by reflecting the light they make the skin look smoother and younger,". When making up famous faces, Geller says she starts with a primer, then adds a cream or lotion with a small amount of pearl essence, which she says she blends over the entire face or, better still, mixes into foundation or even moisturizer. The result, she says, is the fresh-faced look frequently seen on the younger stars. However, she cautions that skin illuminators should not be confused with "sparkle powder" -- products with large chunks of metallic that should never be used on the whole face.
"Sparkle Powder goes only on the high points of the face -- the cheekbone and under the brow And, she says, stay away from sparkle if you have large pores or wrinkles -- it can age the face faster than a prune in the
California sun.
If you're looking for a slightly lower wattage and a more sophisticated glow adapt your look by using a buttery cream foundation that stays moist on the skin.

1. Step 1: Prepare
I've already applied foundation, concealer and translucent powder over the face to even out the skin tone before starting the J-Lo look.
2. You may want to mix MK Liquid Illuminator into your foundation before you apply it . Or use it on your cheek bones, forehead and a little down your nose.
Step 2: Bronzer
To give the skin a Mediterranean glow, apply bronzer to the cheeks, chin and forehead.
Step 3: Eyeshadow
Apply with a large brush to create an ?airbrush' finish. Begin the eye make-up with a pale, frosty highlighter. Apply this from the base of the lashes up to the eyebrows with a flat brush. Flick off any excess make-up with a soft, angled brush.
Now apply a gold eyeshadow straight on top of the eyelid, getting right into the inner corners of each eye. The third colour for the eyes is a rich peach, which should be applied into each socket with a soft blending brush, working from the inner corner and winging out to follow the complete shape of the eye. Make sure you don't go over the gold eyeshadow on the eyelids.
(USE MK's creamy eye color )
4. Step 4: Eyeliner
Now use a soft, black eyeliner pencil and applying it along the roots of the lashes with lots of short strokes. Work from the inner corners outwards, and try and keep your eyes open as you do this.
Now curl the eyelashes to really open up the eyes. Make sure the lashes are clean and dry before you start. Get the curlers as close as you can to the roots of the lashes, and hold them in place for about 5 seconds.
If you really want to emphasise the eyes, try applying false eyelashes. You may need to hold the lashes against your eyes and trim them to fit. Apply the glue to the base of the lashes, wait for a few seconds for the glue to go tacky and place them as close to your own lash line as possible.
5. Step 5: Eyebrows
While the lashes are drying, fill in any gaps in your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. The pencil should be a similar or slightly lighter colour than your natural brow colour.
Step 6: MascaraNext apply black mascara, working the wand through the bottom lashes first to avoid messing up the eyelid. Mascara should always be applied after false eyelashes as it will push your own lashes onto the falsies.
7. Step 7: Cheeks
Give the cheeks a rosy glow with a peach blusher on the highest part of the cheekbone. Use a blusher brush and work in light, circular motions.
Use our Creamy cheek color ( Sheer Bliss) I even mixed some of my Liquid Illuminator into the creamy cheek color and it was beautiful!
If you have any of the Dawn or Dusk Baked powder left. use a touch of the Gold in it to glide across the cheek
8. Step 8: Lips
Apply a peach lipstick onto the top lip with a lip brush. Use whatever's left on the brush to apply a lighter wash of colour to the bottom lip. Pat the lipstick onto your lips with your fingers.
Finally line the lips with a neutral brown lip pencil, being careful to follow the natural line of the lips. If you want a stronger colour, apply a second coat of lipstick and finish with a clear lip gloss, which will help lock the colour in place.
