Team Building Who is a quality prospect?

One of the most wonderful benefits of being an independent businesswoman with Mary Kay is the fact that we have the opportunity to choose who we would like to work with! Working with women who are physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially healthy will provide for a strong team and a dynamic future Unit! When determining whether or not to interview a candidate for your team, take an objective look at her and ask the following questions of her (to yourself). Remember, our business works best on rules rather than exceptions.

1.. RULE She pays a mortgage payment monthly and/or owns her home. ____
EXCEPTION She rents an apartment and/or lives with family.___

2.. RULE She has available credit (Visa/MC) and uses a checking account. ___
EXCEPTION She pays only in cash.___

3.. RULE She has a support system - a supportive husband, family, significant other, etc ____
EXCEPTION She is a single mom and/or has a non-supportive husband or significant other. ___

4.. RULE She has purchased her Basic Set and has booked a class. ____
EXCEPTION She purchased just 1 or 2 items. (not on the basic)___

5.. RULE She is accountable. She held her original appointment or called to reschedule. ____
EXCEPTION She didn't show for her original appointment and had excuses for what went wrong when you called her back.___

6.. RULE She has in depth questions about MK business opportunity - co info, promos, money ____
EXCEPTION She has a vague interest in knowing about the company. ___

7.. RULE She asked you how many hours you work.___
EXCEPTION She asked you how many hours do you have to work.___

8.. RULE She asked how much inventory is best. ___
EXCEPTION She asked if you had to have inventory.___

9.. RULE She has wonderful integrity. She would do things the Mary Kay way.___
EXCEPTION She tends to look for shortcuts - tends to curse or speak negatively of others. ___

10. RULE She has high standards for her appearance.___
EXCEPTION She places little importance on her appearance.___

11.. RULE She could write a check today for her Go Kit.___
EXCEPTION She has to wait to save money for her Got Kit and training material. ____

12.. RULE She has expressed a desire to you of wanting to make a change in her life. ____
EXCEPTION You have impressed upon her the need for her to make a change in her life. ___

13.. RULE Se is an optimist - The glass is half full! ___
EXCEPTION She is a pessimist - the glass is half-empty. ___

14.. RULE She is 28 or older. ___
EXCEPTION She is 27 or younger.___

15.. RULE She has a bright cheerful spirit. ___
EXCEPTION She doesn't smile often. ___

16.. RULE She has a passionate quality about her - she has other achievements to be proud of.___
EXCEPTION She reveals little about herself and tends to show little emotion.___

17.. RULE She enjoys a challenge. ____
EXCEPTION She would rather be a follower. ___

18.. RULE She maintains strong eye contact with you.___
EXCEPTION She finds it difficult to look you in the eye.___

19.. RULE She has been highly successful in previous endeavors.___
EXCEPTION She has tried other things and has half-heartedly pursued them. ___

20.. RULE She has a strong work ethic.___
EXCEPTION She lives on public assistance.___

21.. RULE She loves Mary Kay products. ___
EXCEPTION She has never tried the products.___

22.. RULE She has great "bounce-back-ability".___
EXCEPTION Obstacles tend to stop her.___

23.. RULE She is a decision maker.___
EXCEPTION She has to ask others for their opinion.___

24.. RULE She has strong self-confidence.___
EXCEPTION She often seeks the approval of others.___

25.. RULE She uses her children as a reason to begin her business. ___
EXCEPTION She uses her children as an excuse not to start.___

26.. RULE She owns a car. ___
EXCEPTION She owns no car or only has one in the family.___

27.. RULE She purchased her products in full. ___
EXCEPTION She used the payment plan. ___

Quality prospect: 20 or more in the "Rule" column
Desirable Prospect: 15-19 in the "Rule" Column.
Less than 15: An exception. More likely to be a good customer.

"If my team consisted of all consultants just like this prospect, would I have a successful, professional and goal oriented team?"
