Last year, you and your customers helped raise more than $214,000 in the Team Up for Women! Challenge. Together, you helped the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation continue to fight cancers that affect women and work to end domestic violence.

Its time to embrace the challenge again for 2006! By incorporating the Team Up for Women! Challenge into your business this spring, you can bring positive attention to the causes Mary Kay Ash held dear.

Here are a few simple ways to raise awareness, raise funds and enhance your reputation as a businesswoman who truly cares about the world around her:

 
  Use the round up method. When purchases total an odd number, ask your customers if they would like to round their cost to the nearest dollar and donate the difference.  
  Consider a popular retail strategy for supporting a favorite charity: Give customers the option of donating a dollar above their purchase price.  
  Ask for spare change at classes and collection previews. Place a piggy bank in a prominent spot, perhaps with a simple sign showing that all donations will go to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. Let them know how they can truly help change womens lives for the better by supporting the Foundation.  
  Distribute the Team Up for Women! Challenge fliers to your customers and display them at your classes. Remember, studies show that customers prefer doing business with retailers who support charitable giving. The flier also may help open doors to the Mary Kay business opportunity by demonstrating the Companys charitable priorities and could be an effective conversation starter with new and existing customers.  
       
  Seminar Recognition  
 

Independent Beauty Consultants who collect donations of at least $50 will receive a name badge ribbon and standing recognition at Seminar 2006. All donations, accompanied by the proper form, must be postmarked by Monday, May 15, to receive Seminar 2006 recognition.
