How to Work in July

Thanks Chelle Hill for passing this along.

The summer can offer us a whole new set of challenges!! People go onvacation, ball games, LOTS of extra stuff happening that tells us we must GET CREATIVE with how we approach and talk to people!! We must talk to A LOT of people and book MORE than half of what we want (i.e. book 5 to hold 1, instead of 6 to hold 2-3). A few tips for working July.............!!


1. BE OPEN TO HOLDING MORE FACIALS AND DOUBLE FACIALS than classes ? Because people are so busy (or think they are) we are more likely to hold more one on one appointments with ladies and maybe another of their friends than we are to have a class of 4 - 6.

2. BE SPONTANEOUS - Look for opportunities to book at the "last minute" - FLEXIBILITY! GREAT for "on the go" appointments. And what about those ball games you are attending? Give a profile to the other moms, have them fill it out, and get back with them! (see script below)

3. FOCUS ON FUN & FAST - Nail, Lip, and Hairy Legs, Crusty Feet Classes are popular, fun, & fast!! Handcials work well at the ball park too!

4. SCHEDULE PRODUCT PREVIEWS:
This is a great script to help you introduce your clients to all the new products, and a great way to get groups together, all the way from small to large...sort of a trunk show atmosphere with the color products! Summer is busy for everyone you are approaching ....so appeal to them with quick fun sessions!! Thanks to Denise Kucharski for this GREAT idea via Pam Tull!

Product Preview Script....
"Hi _________, this is _1__________. Just spoke with Susie Smith and Susie said you might be able to help us! I work with Mary Kay Cosmetics, and we have people traveling all over the country getting feedback about all our new products.....We're doing a thing called Product Previews......we're very excited about it ..... And I've been asked to do some Product Previews in THIS part of the country! Let me explain a little more about it....... A Product Preview is simply where we bring in new products, and we get people who live in that specific area to sample them. The things we are sampling right now are Bath/Body products, Lipsticks, Lip Glosses, Foot & Leg Treatment, Lip Treatment, Hand Treatment, 22 New Eye Colors and 10 new Cheek Colors! It's a lot of fun, it's quick...and here's the best part.... just for trying the products, you get to shop at _______ off that day! It's a way to say thank you for helping us out! The dates of the next 1 previews are (date & date). Another thing....you may know people.... we're especially looking for sharp Mother/Daughters - gals 14 and up...because we have a Teen Line. The Mother/Daughter Product Preview is great.... we get 2 different age groups at one time! Who do you know that has a teenager or daughter in their 20's? Do you know anyone that always looks good & would be great for the Product Preview?"

Get names/#'s.....keep following through...keep the chain going!
(Note: if they can't make it on the date scheduled.....schedule them for their own personal Product Preview - they would need just 2 friends present to get the 50% discount...you'll have bookings galore!)
