Adopt a Mom |
For $25 your customers can adopt a Mom in a Battered Women's Shelter. What do they give them? Now if you OR any of your consultants have older product, this is the perfect opportunity to move it. I highly recommend you don't go nuts and do product older than 3 years. If you have older than that, take the tax deduction and toss it....its old, it's bad. So what do you give them? An eye shadow and a gloss, a lipstick and a blush, a foundation and a lipstick, a lipstick and a spa lotion or scrub....WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO....I add it up to $25 retail and put it in a Miracle Set Bag with pretty pink tissue paper--and voila....a beautiful gift is created. You can even label the bags with Ivory, Beige or Bronze Skin tones if you'd like. You can do $25 retail or wholesale or $22 w/tax on top, whatever...... you make the rules...do you want to make money, or recoup from obsolete inventory I don't think there is any magic in a flier.... but I do tell my customers, for every gift they purchase, I will give them 1/2 off a glamour product. If they help me sell 10 to their friends and family, they get a hostess gift.
If you do not have old product, then come up with something yourself... I think lip gloss and mascara is great....they are small and can keep them...
If people cannot do a full 25, ask them if you can add on $5 to their order towards a mom's gift in a shelter... YOU WILL BE AMAZED at the response you get...Every time you get a reorder from now till then, ASK THEM to donate.....ask them to take up donations in their office.
IT IS NOT A TAX DEDUCTION... I do NOT promote it that way. It is a GIFT.
I DO NOT put my labels or info in the bags.
After you do this....about 3-4 days before Mother's Day, show up at your local shelters distribution center (usually the shelters are hidden) and unload...THEY LOVE YOU. Heather Wickstrom -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mother's Day gifting for nursing home I have been doing this for about 10 years.... You have to be careful with what you give...odors bother a lot of people...also; most of the women have trouble opening things... My customers support this project...for a $10 donation... ($10 even) I will take a gift wrapped tube of lotion with a card on it...to the Nursing home...I usually average about 70.... the nursing home I use will take all I can get....I wrap them in tulle & tie a pretty ribbon around the top, hole punch a card that I make on my own...( Usually it just reads...Happy Mother's Day from Jane Doe...Or Happy Mother's Day to a Special Lady...for those who do not wish to put their names on their gifts...) Like I said... you have to be careful...I remove the plastic wrap off of the hand creams & I tie a simple slip tie so they can pull the ribbon & the package unties...I usually use 2 or 3 colors of tulle on each one...so they look like flowers all fluffy at the top Hugs, Becky Dewese |
