OK!  Girls....are you ready?  Don't have names?  Not on the date book? DEAL IN REALITY AND CHANGE THAT TODAY!!!!!!!  Gotta change it!  Yes YOU!  Unless the Mary Kay wannabees are knocking down your door (they aren't mine) then you  must take charge.  When I was a kid and walked uphill both ways in the snow barefoot to school.....I mean when I was a consultant, we didn't have face sheets, Color Select cards, lip buttons, etc.......We drew our own faces; we put actual product on them and sprayed them with Aqua Net to keep the product from smearing!  (you should have seen mine.....I can't even color in the lines---mine were awful.  I can't believe anybody would be my model 'cause nobody would have wanted to look like that!).
POINT:  You have the professional tools.  You don't live in a smaller town than Sherril Steinman or Pam Tull (NSD and Million Multiple times)  and all that holds you back is that 6" between your ears!  So....get 5, 6 good Mary Kay tapes of Big Thinkers, Workers, so that your mindset is CAN DO vs. What am I gonna do?  I used to cry to Nancy Perry around the 8th of the month,  "Nancy, I'm not going to make it"  (production and qualification).  I need to tell you that my team and I earned my first car in 3 months and became a unit the next 3 months (I had never heard of anyone re-submitting.  I didn't know you could.   Plus I had let my teaching certificate expire so that in June , the end of my 6th month, unless I was a director, I was also out of a job!  I closed the door to 'failure' options.  I challenge you to close the door to any option short of a POWER START and a Gold Medal this month.  If you need to add 10, 15 to finish your goal, then increase the numbers.  Living breathing people are everywhere!!!!!!!!

Strategy for warm-chatter booking and a challenge from Julie
While talking to Donna West, a Jewel, I realized that we don't always go out to hand out business cards with a purpose.  Last Friday, I went out and in 30 min I asked about 8 women to be a model for me next Tuesday.  Handed them a Model Gift Certificate with directions to my house (where I have my meetings).  The certificate is $10 and double if they bring a friend.  One ex-customer I gave her the coupon plus told her about the Mother-Daughter contest.  Both ladies called me to confirm before I got a chance to call them.  So last night I had 4 guests, booked 2 makeover classes, sold $140 and have 1 rec prospect.  I'm going to have a gold medal week....are you?  So what's my point, besides that I am crowing, (I love this business)...

Have a plan before you leave the house of why they want to book with you on the spot...like,
   a.. I'm putting together my [Spring or Summer or] Holiday or Fall portfolio of before and after pictures.  I'd like to get it completed this week.  Do you have anytime free before Friday?
   b.. I'm looking for models to bring to our weekly training...we don't use mannequins so we need real women.  Are you free next Tuesday?
   c.. You have such a great look and I am looking for a woman with (red, blonde, dark,) hair to add to my portfolio of before and after pictures.
   d.. I have enjoyed talking with you.  Would you mind if I gave you my business card...maybe we could get together again.  I'm new to the area and haven't met alot of women yet.  Say, maybe ! we could do a makeover
consultation and get our children together again to play.  Have you tried mary kay lately?
   e.. It looks like you are having a trying day today...here's my card...if you'd like to get together to be pampered with a makeover then please call me.
   f.. I'm in a contest today to hand my card out to 5 sharp women.  Would you mind if I gave my card with a Mary Kay sample attached?  Oh here's one for your friends too.
   g.. I'm in a contest to get 10 survey cards completed today...would you mind taking just a minute to fill this MK survey out.

How do you get their name and number and why do you want it?
   a.. Take control of your business and you call them back-don't wait on them
   b.. If they are interested, then have them fill out the info card so you can send them a current brochure  or to add them to your mailing list
   c.. If they are going to be a model then ask them to complete this info card
   d.. Give them directions and details right then!!  Then follow-up with a postcard if there is time or an email with all the same info.
   e.. You know as girls we don't even powder or noses alone...so if you'd like to bring a friend or two, it will be more fun!
   f.. If they are doing the survey, then say..."by the way, I need a model for Tuesday Training...do you happen to be free?"  If no, then say..."I understand, how about doing a private consultation?  I'd love to add you to my portfolio of b/after pics.

The trick to warm chatter booking ladies is to get an appointment on the spot...you don't have time to call her back later, do you?  I don't.  And I forget or I can't catch her at home.  Then she sees that I have called 5 times in a week on her caller id and now she thinks I'm bugging her.  No seriously...I usually forget to call l because I already have too many appts.  If you have a plan before you leave the house then you can be back home in 30 min or do it while you are out...sitting at a ball game, waiting to pick up at school, going to the McD playground, at the park, at the dry cleaners, at the gas pump, in the grocery store, at your desk.  Ladies, women are around you every day unless you are a couch potato (if you are then get out of the house!!)  Don't make it a big deal...just say, hello, did you know that I do makeovers with MK?  Lots of women have said no to me.  So what?  Put this business in perspective...it's make-up to them!!!  If something else like family comes up...they will cancel you.  Get over it...it's just make-up.  Doctors double book.  So go get a new booking or double book your available time slots.  Have kids...do appts at your home during the day with their kids over to play--just be sure that you are very quick or you won't have time to close the sale because the kids will only play for about 30 min then they want something to eat.  Makeover first and quick then you can chat later.

I challenge everyone who reads this to go right now somewhere-even if it's the copier and hand out 5 cards/brochures or make-up your own card.  Ask them to be a model for you.  She is going to love the compliment even if she says no.  I don't want to hear the excuses...just try it!!!  Then go to Lynn's website/guestbook and type in your 5 responses...then email Lynn your address so she can send you something.    Directors too...maybe it's been awhile.  I'm going now too.  See ya.....
