Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes.. CYnthea Herreid (They will save you money!) |
PRIORITY MAIL REGIONAL RATE BOXES In order to obtain these boxes you must go online:www.usps.com. Click on MY USPS & register for this service. Once you have registered as an individual or as a business you can order the Priority Mail Regional Rate boxes. The boxes are FREE. These Regional Rate boxes can NOT be picked up at your P.O.; they must be ordered. I have also found that the postal workers @ the Post Office are not familiar with this service. The boxes come in 2 sizes: A (10x7x4) or B (12x10x5). You may order them in packages of 10 or 25 per set. If you?re thinking I don?t ship that much then order a set of each size or the size you want & share boxes with a few other consultants. There is no cost when ordering these boxes. Once you have the boxes you will weigh your package & follow the directions on line to arrive at the cost of the postage. You can print out the postage tag & attach to your package. You don?t need special sheets, just use your regular paper & apply on your package with clear packing tape. You can drop off boxes @ your P.O. or they will pick up (that may delay your package by a day before it is shipped). The boxes have Priority Mail on them just like the boxes you pick up at your local P.O., but down on the bottom left-hand corner they also state Regional Rate box. Using these boxes can be a considerable saving instead of the Priority Mail boxes or even mailing packages in other same size boxes. The Priority Mail boxes have a set rate based on the size of the box, but the Regional Rate postage is based on weight & zip code. I have found in most case that using the Regional Rate boxes is a considerable savings unless your package is really heavy (then use the Priority Mail box). The A box is bigger than the small size Priority mail box, but smaller than the middle-size Priority Mai box & the cost is usually much less than sending the middle-size Priority Mail box. For small items/packages mail like normally do. Test it out & see. |
