Product Coding System   Did you know that every Mary Kay product is labeled with an easy-to-read code right on the packaging? That makes it easy to keep your inventory fresh and ensure that your customers always get the very best. The code consists of a shade name (if applicable), part number and day code located on the bottom of a container, the barrel of a pencil or the crimp of a tube of each Mary Kay product. For example, an eye color refill tray might be marked "Crystalline #013044 RF01."   "Crystalline" is the product shade name.     The six numbers (013044) indicate the part number.       The second four characters (RF01) indicate the date of manufacture, which in this example would be May 1, 2008. This day code is useful in maintaining the high-quality standards of Mary Kay, as it is used to trace products returned for any reason. In addition, you can refer to this date to assure that you deliver the freshest possible product (particularly any product with a limited shelf life) to your customers. Remember to rotate your inventory with the first-in, first-out system. The following products have a two-year shelf life: Acne Treatment Gel, TimeWise Day Solution Sunscreen SPF 25 and Subtle Tanning Lotion. You can interpret the day code using the following legend: Character 1: Letter representing the year in the decade in which the product was produced. Character 2: Letter representing the month of year in alpha order, as follows (please note that the code skips some letters to avoid confusion and mistaken identification): Products indicated with a single dagger identify over-the-counter drug products (OTC).   Customers should carefully read and observe all warnings, indications and directions for use on the labels of these products.

During the warmer months my skin gets so oily!     How can I control the shine without wearing a pound of makeup? -- Anonymous Nobody wants to wear a heavy foundation during the summer, especially if you have oily or combination skin. Your best bet is to keep the oilies at bay with a good oil-control lotion, like Mary Kay's Oil Mattifier or the classic Oil-Control Lotion which is also a light moisturizer.     You may think the last thing your skin needs is more moisture, but all skin types need some type of balancing treatment.    If you skip the moisturizer, youll end up with very oily sections and dry patches in other areas.    Of course, your skin cleansing routine is more important during the summer months.     The heat and oil are breeding ground for bacteria.    It's importnat to use a clean washcloth each time so as not to redeposit bacteria on the face.    Because oil flow increases during heat or physical activity, you may feel you break out more frequently.    Masking  twice a week will help keep skin clear; or if you're short on time, use  Mary Kay's new Microdermabrasion system  as part of your shower routine.    Remember that all exfoliants are also stimulants and will temporarily produce more oil flow  - so you might want to shower/mask/micro  at night during the summer months so you skin is calm in the morning.    This excess oil flow in the morning will also "melt" your makeup sooner during the day when you need to look fresh. If your skin needs some kind of coverage, think about using concealer only on the areas that you need it.     A lightweight cover-up under the eye area and on spot blemishes will help to conceal your trouble areas, but your face will still be able to breathe.    For all-over coverage, switch to a mineral powder foundation,  which is a powder and foundation in one.     The texture is light enough so you wont feel like youre wearing anything, and the powder consistency will help to mattify the skin.    Apply this type of foundation with a large powder brush for even but natural-looking skin.     Another trick is to use a bronzing powder instead of foundation, which also helps to even out the skin while adding some color and protection at the same time. Throughout the day, youll probably still need something to reduce shine from oil and perspiration.    Try Mary Kay's Beauty Blotters and Mineral Pressed Powder, which you can use to freshen up your makeup without looking too made-up.     Blotting papers are small,  thin strips of paper-like material that are pressed onto the face and discarded after one use.      Blotting papers literally soak up the excess oil on the skin but keep makeup in tact.
